What inspired you to become an author?
I would have to say my mom. She and I would sit at the table on rainy
days and make up story books. We would
draw pictures and I would write the story.
It is such a treasured memory for me, and I believe it started my obsession
and love for books and writing.
Do you write in different genres?
I do.
I have a suspense/romance I am currently working on while finishing up
book 2 in my Supernatural Desire series that I hope to have finished before
Christmas. But I think my heart and soul is in romance – so although they might
not be paranormal – they will be romantic.
Do you title the book first or wait until after it’s
complete?
Both - Book 1 was titled after I
finished the book, but book 2 has already been titled to fit into the series.
Is there a message in your novel that you want
readers to grasp?
I think it would be that; no matter who we are, or how tough we think we are
-everyone has insecurities. And
sometimes you aren’t the only one dealing with those insecurities.
What books are in your to read pile?
Too many to list!! lol
What is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects?
Book 2 - A Wolf’s Savage embrace. I am hoping to launch that at the end of
August if all goes well.
Can you share a little of your current work with us?
“Actually,” he said,
leaning down and placing his lips ever so lightly against her neck. He inhaled
deeply, and Abby shivered from the top of her head to the tips of her toes.
Good Lord! “You smell of vanilla and lavender, with perhaps a hint of honey.
It’s quite nice.”
“Wow,” she choked
out, her heart racing triple time. “I’ve always read that Vampires were
supposed to have a heightened sense of smell or something. Yours must really be on the fritz.” Desmond laughed
against her neck, which only caused her to shiver again. Damn, but this man was
dangerous, she thought irritably. What he was doing to her body should be
illegal!
“My sense of smell is
just fine,” he stated adamantly as he stood back up. “In fact, I am certain
that what you have heard is only one of the very few things that is correct. All of my senses are
heightened.”
Oh great, Abby
thought crossly. That means he can probably hear my heart beating around in my
chest like a boy crazy teen-aged cheerleader. Could this get any worse? “How
about sunlight and crosses?” she asked, desperately trying to keep her thoughts
away from how absolutely delectable he was.
“I can go out in the
sun for very short periods, if any longer than a few moments my skin will burn
and I will weaken – but it would take some time to kill me. And as for
crosses…” He opened the top button of the shirt he wore and held up the tiny
gold cross that hung around his neck, “just stories – although silver does have
an adverse effect on me - pretty much the same as the sun.”
“So, I guess that
means you don’t sleep in a coffin either?” she asked, as calmly as possible,
and he smiled - his eyes scanning up and down her body in a slow, thorough
sweep, and she felt herself growing warm.
“No, I
don’t. I sleep in a bed.” His smile widened and he chuckled deep in his chest –
his eyes gleaming dangerously. “In fact, I usually sleep in this bed
Is there anything you find particularly challenging
in your writing?
When I get stuck on a certain scene
that I am trying to write. I know what I
want to say but when it comes time to say it – it’s just not there at that
moment. Usually I have to step away and
come back, and that usually does the trick.
Who designed the cover of your latest book?
Linda Boulanger, and she is amazing! I
just can’t tell you how much I love that woman!
Do you have any advice for other writers?
To just, never give up. Yes, be your own worst critic – but also be
your own biggest fan! Don’t ever think that you can’t do it. If it comes from your heart and soul – then
you just made the biggest step.
Do you have anything else you'd like to share today?
Yes.
