What inspired you to become an author?
I have had an obsession with books for
as long as I can remember. As a child, I used to anxiously await the weekend,
when one of my parents would take me and my sisters to our local library.
Visiting the shelves filled with book upon book gave me such joy. Each story
was a different adventure. But even though I loved books, I never thought I
could actually write one. It was too hard, took too long. I wasn’t good enough.
And then my son was born. I found myself with a bit of free time while on
maternity leave, and I thought, why not? If I didn’t at least try, how could I
ever encourage my son to follow his own dreams? Once I started writing, I was
hooked. At last I’d found something better than reading: Writing!
Is there a message in your novel that you want
readers to grasp?
I know it might sound a bit hokey, but
the theme of all my stories is that love conquers all. I truly believe that to
be one of the most important truths about life. What is success, or fame, or
money, or any of the things worth having in life, if you don’t have someone to
share it with?
What books/authors have influenced your life?
Anne Rice is responsible for my
obsession with paranormal romance. Once I read The Mummy, I became obsessed with the idea of a paranormal creature
as a sort of anti-hero. Then I discovered Karen Marie Moning in my early 20s,
and it was all over.
What book are you reading now?
I just finished Allure by Lea Nolan. What a great YA paranormal series! I highly
recommend it.
What books are in your to read pile?
I am anxiously awaiting the release of
Reaver by Larissa Ione and Up From the Grave by Jeaniene Frost.
What is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects?
Next month (Dec. 30th) will
see the release of Heart of the Incubus,
a novella based in the Demons of Infernum world. Here’s a bit more about that
book:
Biochemist Cresso
Taylor lives the sort of lifestyle most men would envy—he has wealth, natural
incubus charm, and more women than he can handle. But it’s not enough anymore.
Not after meeting Genevieve Russell, the sexy scientist who works with him at
Elcorp Laboratory. And she wants absolutely nothing to do with him.
After her fiancé
broke her heart, Genevieve has had enough of womanizers. She’s determined to
steer clear of sexy-as-sin Dr. Taylor, despite the fact that his incubus allure
makes her want to rip his clothes off. But when a secret admirer’s affection
turns to the macabre with threatening notes and grisly gifts, Cresso appoints
himself her protector. As she and Cresso hunt her stalker, she discovers
there’s a lot more to the sensual incubus than she ever imagined.
Do you have to travel much to do research for your
books?
Most of my stories are based in places
I’ve been. I do take the occasional research trip back to my hometown of New
York City. The city has such a pulse, such life energy, and I love to go back
periodically to just wallow in it, lol.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
If you truly feel you must write, then
don’t allow anyone to steal your dream. There are a lot of ups and downs in the
publishing industry. Don’t let those affect you. Have faith in yourself as a
writer, and in your story.
Do you have a song or playlist (book soundtrack) that
you think represents this book?
I Put a Spell on You by Nina
Simone was playing in my head throughout most of this story.

About the Author:
Rosalie Lario is the award-winning, paranormal romance author of the Demons of Infernum and the Fallen Warriors series. Rosalie double majored in Anthropology and Classics as an undergraduate student, and briefly considered becoming an archaeologist before realizing they don't actually live the life of Indiana Jones. So what was a classical geek armed with a lot of useless knowledge to do? Become a lawyer, of course!
After attending law school in Florida, she practiced real estate law for several years before finally admitting to herself that negotiating contracts wasn't nearly as fun as dreaming up stories. She never imagined all the mythology she'd learned throughout her undergraduate education might actually come in handy, but it makes perfect fodder for the paranormal romance stories she now dreams up.
When not writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children in their home state of Florida.
