Get to Know Author Kerri Nelson

Mini-Interview with Kerri Nelson

1. Where are you from?

I’m from the sunny south and one of those true southern belles (insert batting of eyelashes and twirling of parasol here)

2. Tell us your latest news?

My latest news is that I have FOUR new books coming out this holiday season! Three of them are Christmas or holiday themed and one is the first book in my werewolf series!

3. What book are you reading now?

I just finished reading a Young Adult paranormal book entitled “My Soul to Lose” and it was absolutely fabulous. I just discovered this series of books and plan to read more. I enjoyed the first person POV and the author’s voice of the teen girl was just right on. I highly recommend it.

4. What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

The only one I can think of is that I like to eat SweetTarts when I’m writing. I don’t get to do it all the time but if I have a box of them around the house, you’ll find me munching on those as my fingers type away on the keyboard. By the way, if anyone would like to donate any to the cause…I’ll always accept those!

5. What do you like to do when you're not writing?

Well, besides reading and writing and creating custom designed book trailers for other authors…I run my own author promotion company and I teach online classes on adding legal & law enforcement elements to your novel. Outside of that…I love to bake! I have quite a few specialties including peach cobbler, pecan pie, and cake design.

6. How can our readers find you on the internet?

You can find me at http://www.kerrinelson.com/ and at my blog http://www.kerribookwriter.blogspot.com/ (where I have several contests each month). You can also find me at my promotion company website http://www.thebookboost.com/. We are just getting up and running over there…but we are hosting a huge December giveaway from all our authors. You don’t want to miss that!

Author Bio for Kerri Nelson:

Kerri Nelson has always been passionate about reading books but when she wrote her first poem in the second grade, she discovered her love of writing. At the age of sixteen, she became a columnist for her local newspaper as the high school correspondent for the weekly "Panther Tales" column. She won the Outstanding Young Journalist of the Year Award for her efforts.

After an education and career in the legal field, Kerri began to pen romantic suspense novels with a legal or law enforcement theme. She is a true southern belle and comes complete with her dashing southern gentleman husband and two little belles-in-training. When she’s not reading or writing, you’ll find her baking homemade goodies for her family, feeding her addiction to blogging online or designing custom made book trailers. Kerri is an active member of Romance Writers of America as well as numerous Chapters including Southern Magic, Futuristic Fantasy & Paranormal, Hearts Through History, and Celtic Hearts Romance Writers.

Blurb for Eve of the Dragon

When college student Chloe Griffith elects to spend her Christmas break backpacking through the Fuji mountains of Japan, she has no clue that she's about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

During Chloe's first day of hiking near the village of Ginowan, she watches as a fierce Asian warrior slays a dragon to save his village. Fascinated by the extreme turn of events, she stays in the village to learn more about this dark, sexy warrior.

She soon learns that the village is caught in a time warp and that the warrior is doomed to repeat the same battle every single night.

Chloe must find a way to help the village and save her lover. Will the magic of Christmas be enough to break this ancient curse?

Finding adventure is easy, the real challenge is surviving it.

Tamsyn~~ Awesome! I lived for several years in Japan before I had children. I took a job there and I absolutely loved it. I'd like to go back some day. I'm thinking of continuing this story on. If you take a look at it, be sure to let me know if you think I should pick up where it leaves off...I'd love to hear a reader opinion!

Sue~~ I've always thought dragons were cool. I don't know why but it just came to me that a Japanese Dragon romance would be cool. I'm not sure that it really goes with the holiday season but hopefully I made it work! Thanks for your comment!
